Pedal Line Friday (on Wednesday) – 9/18 – Thomas Orr

I know today is not Friday, but due to the large queue of Pedal Line Friday, I thought I do a few on Wednesdays! Today’s pedal line is from Thomas Orr. Hello Effects Bay !!!  My name is Thomas Samuel Orr and I am a Voxaholic. This is my simple (yet effective) all Vox set-up… First thing I plug an Italian made 1966 Vox Mark VI teardrop guitar into pedal #1 which is a Model V850 Vox 250 K Audio Taper Volume Pedal made in U.S.A. When I want to go from a clean tone to a dirty tone I put this pedal to the metal. Next in line is a 1968 V828 Vox Tone Bender. (It would be/should be the first in line except in this case where the first pedal is only a volume pedal then it’s OK). This fuzz unit is all original with 2 Germanium transistors (an SFT 337 & an SFT 363E) made in Italy. It functions best with a Heavy Duty Zinc Chloride 9V battery in there!  This pedal is featured a lot on my second album “Songs of Love and Sadness 2”. Check out the track “Smoke Pot” to hear how fuzzy things can get. Next is a new, stock, un-modded Vox Wah-Wah pedal Model V847A made in China. Sometimes used in a fixed position as a Midrange Resonant Boost control on recordings. The 3 position MRB effect was built-in on vintage solid state Vox amps. I abuse the pedal on the track, “Good Images”. Lastly is a Vox Joe Satriani Time Machine Delay Pedal. Made in Japan. I made use of this pedal on my latest single “Shimmery Pop”. It has 2 outputs (1 wet, 1 dry) that can be run through 2 different amps for a cool stereo sound… and yes… the amps are Vox too.
