Today’s pedal line is from TC Johnson. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.
Dear Effects Bay,
I’m currently running with this setup for playing in a youth ministry worship band:
(In order of signal)
1. Dunlop 535Q Crybaby
2. JHS modified DynaComp (Ross Mod)
3. JHS modified Ibanez TS9 (Strong Mod)
4. Rat (1988 or so vintage)
5. JHS modified Ernie Ball VP Jr (Active/No Loss Mod)
6. TC Electronic Flashback X4
7. Boss RV-5 Reverb
I typically run the TS9 and comp full time and control the crunch with my guitar volume. I layer on the Rat when I want full on distortion. The VP Jr comes before the delay and reverb so that when I cut the volume, the two time based effects can complete their cycle and fade out naturally (makes for awesome cuts and swells). The Flashback X4 has three presets I configured with the analog and 2290 settings. Lastly the RV-5 stays in the modulation setting cause that warbly reverb is so cool. I’d like to send it off to JHS for their mod. It allows you to use two of the modes, switching with a button they add to the pedal.
