Today’s pedal line is from Abram Denzlinger. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.
I’m a guitarist in the Omaha Rock and Soul band Voodoo Method. Â We play out fairly often and do some minor traveling to gigs, so this was pieced together over the last few years with simplicity in mind. Â The Pedaltrain PT-2 HC and Voodoo Labs PP2+ make set up/tear down/transport easier. Â I switch between a Strat and Les Paul, and run everything straight into a Rivera Quiana 212.
Analogman modded Boss GE-7 – for quick adjustments in tone/volume when switching guitars. Â Makes the changes a little less drastic, and keeps the sound guys happy.
MXR Custom Comp – replaced a Keeley 2-knob. Â The Custom Comp adds a little shimmer along with compression. Â It’s a permanent part of my clean tone.
Fulltone Clyde Standard – replaced a Vox V-847. Â I have the trim pot set halfway between Mike’s favorite setting and the stock 60’s Vox setting. Â It makes for a nice all around (rhythm/lead) wah setting.
Peterson Strobo Stomp 2 – the only tuner I’ve found that I can see clearly in ANY lighting condition.
Fulltone OCD – set for light/medium OD.
Keeley modded Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive – set for solo boosts.
Line 6 M5 – for tremolo and some weirder stuff like octaves, synth, etc. Â I’ve never really cared for the Line 6 delays. Â LOTS of people love ’em, but I usually don’t use them. Â I’ve gone back and forth putting the M5 in the effects loop, and it does make a significant difference in how the M5 performs. Â The drawback is in the clean tone: Â the extra 40 feet of cable in the effects loop rolls off some high end. Â For as little as I use the M5, I prefer to sacrifice its performance a little and run it in front of the amp with everything else. Â This keeps my clean tone how I like it, and the M5 still does ok.
T Rex Replica – incredible tap-tempo delay. Â Always on the brown setting. Â This replaced an MXR Carbon Copy – great delay, but the repeats get really dark on longer delay times. Â Plus I really wanted tap tempo. Â The replica gets it done.
