I love Kickstarter, and what it can do for projects. I like the fact that it allows us to help make something happen. Usually, it’s just the last final push that is needed to make something a reality. I’m personally involved with a documentary project, and I truly understand all the difficulties surrounding these types of projects. So when I see a project that speaks to me, I contribute something.
Yesterday, I started seeing various promotions for a documentary called – BEAUTIFUL NOISE – MUSIC DOCUMENTARY. Okay, I’m interested. I watched the video and was super excited to see it’s about how these bands from the 80s and the 90s changed music with pedals, and how that influenced music. Talking about the core of shoegazing with interviews with some fantastic artists/bands from Ride to the Cure to My Bloody Valentine to the Flaming Lips and many more. I would say, Eric Green – the creator of this project, had a daunting task. There is a lot of ground to cover on a topic like this. I was also impressed with the number of interviews he was able to secure…. I know first hand, that takes a lot of work.
Here is the official trailer for the movie:

I really appreciated the quote at the end of the trailer: “They didn’t sell a lot of records, but everyone that heard them started a band“. I would agree 1000%. These bands have influenced me, inspired me and truly got me to think about music on a deeper level. Without these bands for me, there would not be an EffectsBay.com.
This Kickstarter campaign has 26 days remaining, a lot of money that still needs to be generated to meet the campaign goal. If you enjoy these bands, enjoy music, enjoy pedals, enjoy creating, enjoy documentaries… please make a pledge. If you’re unfamiliar with Kickstarter, you will only be charge if the goal is reached. Also, all charges are managed via Amazon, which gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling when it comes to security, vs the other kickstarter like sites.
