Sometimes I forget that pedals can be used non-traditionally. The possibilities are literally endless with manipulating signals. Beyond guitars/bass, we can obviously go into vocals, keyboards, etc. I came across this interesting video (by Manolis Moumouzias) where they’re manipulating drum track (single overhead mic on a kit) with a Electro-Harmonix Enigma Q Balls. There are some definitely cool possibilities here!

So what is happening here? The Electro-Harmonix Enigma Q Balls is a powerful envelope filter. It’s especially dialed in for bass frequency response (40Hz to 3kHz range). Additionally, you can dial in some built in analog distortion. The Electro-Harmonix Enigma Q Balls is avilable for $192.75 at Amazon and ships with FREE super saver shipping!
