A few years ago, I was really excited to find instrumental bands. I started on the typical Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, God speed, etc. Post-rock stuff. Which I’m still a fan of today. Love the post-rock. But then I wanted to explore other genres of music and was super excited to find bands like Russian Circles. Same instrumental format, but heavier. At that time, I was really getting into fuzz pedals and getting down with “Stoner Rock” and I remember the moment when I first listened to Earthless. That psychedelic, heavy groove, heavy fuzz, with delay and wah itch – was definitely scratched by Earthless. I was hooked at that moment.
Many years later, they actually played Missoula, Mt, and had a chance to meet Mario (drums), Isaiah (guitar) and Mike (bass). A great group of guys and the show did NOT disappoint.
Yesterday, I got word of them being on Premier Guitar’s Rig Rundown, and to say I was stoked for this is an understatement. These guys are fantastic!
