TC Electronic Flashback 2

TC Electronic Flashback 2I wanted to talk about the TC Electronic Flashback 2 this morning. A couple of months ago, TC Electronic announced this pedal with new enhancements/features over the already popular Flashback (version 1) delay.

For years, I’ve been posting Pedal Line Friday posts (hey.. I’m always looking for more submissions, learn how here) and the TC Electronic Flashback delay is one of those pedals you see on many boards including the pros. Clearly TC knows how to put together cool delays – been doing it for years and years.

So, what’s special about version 2? Normally, a version 2 is rarely worth discussing, because the changes are subtle, often internal or enclosure related, etc. But for this upgrade, they added a cool feature – Mash

Mash is basically turning the footswitch with a long press into an expression pedal. But it’s not just about the long press.. but how much pressure is applied. Truly expression handling. Each delay preset has a different Mash control – meaning on some delay preset it could be the delay repeat, or delay speed, threshold, etc.

This is a major change/feature. The other major piece is the introduction of the “Crystal Delay” preset. Shimmer is so hot these days.. this is delay with shimmer.

Check out the official video:

The other appealing thing about the Flashback 2, is the price point. You can pick up the TC Electronic Flashback 2 for $169 on Amazon.com – That’s a killer price for the functionality.

If you own the Flashback 2, let us know what you think about it by commenting below.. or if you don’t and have some thoughts/opinions.. let me know!
