If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you know a couple of things. #1 I love EarthQuaker Devices and #2 I love Knobs Demo videos. Having the two combined is blowing my mind.
EarthQuaker Devices is an absolutely fantastic company. Starting from the business to where they are now is an impressive feat, and especially how fast that growth was. But, that’s not why I love this company. It’s their pedals. I honestly play my Dispatch Master WAY too much, but I can say their pedals have a certain ‘character’. Every time I play an EQD pedal, it feels like an EQD. Hard to put my finger on it, but they have a signature sound – that I always find inspiring.
Knobs has been doing quirky videos for a while now. I love the quirkiness, because it takes the pedal out of the conventional view. By doing that, you might find the ‘spirit’ of the pedal more so than hearing a shredder – shredding the pedal if you know what I mean.
I wanted to post this video for a couple of reasons. The primary reason, if you’re like me and are a builder (check out Rattlesnake Cable Company) or interested in making a go as a builder in the music gear industry – this video gives you hope and inspiration. At least it did for me. The second reason I wanted to show case this video is I love seeing people doing cool things. Produce. Do stuff. Make things happen. Not because it’s a business, just because there is a drive and a gamble. It can be scary to do stuff, but so rewarding when you do. Maybe this will inspire you as well.
