P-LINK : Guitar Pickup Interchange System

I’ve been wanting to talk about the P-LINK pickup system for a bit. I saw this a few weeks ago and was totally excited and interested.

As a guitarist, everything is about tone. Not just quality tone, but a variety of tone. Typically this is achieved by buying different styles of guitars. Single coil pickups sound different than Humbuckers and those sound different than P90s. Switching out pickups is easy (to a point) but more of a pain, and it’s a change that you need to be prepared to go all the way with. Your guitars are unique and have their individual feel and sound, but imagine if you can swap out the humbuckers on your Les Paul and some P90s very quickly? Or maybe put in a single coil but still have the neck feel by using the same guitar? That’s awesome.

The P-LINK System

The P-LINK system is developed in Australia and was designed to solve this problem. Once the system is installed in your guitar, you can be swapping out pick ups in seconds. Setting up the system fits into standard humbucker mounting rings. So if you have a single coil set up and want to go in this direction, you would need to do some body routing.
