Today’s Pedal Line Friday submission is from Kevin Wade Inge. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.

Pedal Line Friday – 9/2 – Kevin Wade Inge
Hey there,
Here’s my submission for Pedal Line Friday – love reading the site, and getting to see all of these different configurations!
My name is Kevin Wade Inge, and I play guitar, pedal steel, and keys in a band out of Richmond, VA called Horsehead. (Links are at the end of the post.)
The general configuration goes like this:
Boss TU-3 Tuner > Fulltone OCD > Catalinbread Octopussy > EH Small Stone Phaser > EH Lester G Rotary > Ibanez Echo Shifter. The Reverb/Tremolo footswitch is for the onboard R&T in the amp (a Vox AC15C1).
Power is (you guessed it) Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus, and all the short cables are Lava Mini Soar 6″, save one Lava Mini Coil that extends to 12″ to get from the Phaser back up to the Lester G. Long cables are all Monster.
Why I like each pedal (this gets a tad long-winded, sorry):
Boss TU-3: I mean, c’mon, who doesn’t like this pedal? It’s a tank and does its job.
Fulltone OCD: Best basic overdrive pedal I’ve found in recent years; mainly used for lead boost.
Catalinbread Octopussy: After hearing Jim McCarty’s work with Cactus (and the famed Ampeg Scrambler), I became absolutely obsessed with Octavia-style fuzz boxes.
I’ve owned A LOT of them, though not an actual scrambler (even though they’ve reissued them). The main problem I’ve had with these boxes is that they have so much low end, they end up compressing the signal, and making what I’m trying to use as a boost into something that makes the whole sound quieter. The Catalinbread DOES NOT have this problem. It does all the extreme octave-up stuff, and still manages to cut thru the mix AWESOMELY.
EH Small Stone Phaser: I’m actually borrowing this from the singer in my band right now, but I’ve owned a small stone before. GREAT phaser pedal, not totally overpowering like the MXR Phase 90…really natural sounding phaser. I use it on pedal steel a lot.
EH Lester G Rotary: You name me a guitar player that doesn’t want a rotary speaker in their setup, and I’ll name you a guitar player that needs to listen to more records. This pedal is the absolute closest thing I’ve heard to a Leslie without breaking your back actually carrying one around. Awesomeness.
Ibanez Echo Shifter: I actually just got this pedal, but I love it. Super versatile, and you can make it self-oscillate REALLY easily, which is always good fun. Cleans up real nice too.
OK, now that’s done, here’s all the links for Horsehead!
