Pedalboards of Deerhoof – John Dieterich and Ed Rodríguez

I remember the first time I listened to Deerhoof. It was the album Reveille in the early 2000s. I remember the first few minutes – I absolutely hated this band. But then I noticed that kept listening. Days, weeks, months and years later – I’m still listening. Deerhoof is an acquired taste, but once you get it – you lock on. I started picking up other recordings – Milk Man and Offend Maggie are also great. Now, when I think about it, I need to pick up some newer releases.

Deerhoof is unique. Deerhoof is weird. I was really surprised and absolutely stoked to see them recently featured on Premier Guitar’s Rig Rundown.  Bands like this need to appear more and more on episodes like this. Seeing the big ‘pros’ is great, but to see bands like this can be really inspiring and might provide some cool insight on gear options and decisions. Check it out:
