I’ve been getting into a new podcast lately – The Ruffian Show. The Ruffian Show is Dan Deleon who also runs Ruffian Pedals and has been a very interesting listen for me. He’s been contacting various builders and they do the classic question and answer session, but what caught my ear was some very interesting focus about the business.
As a builder and a small business owner, I’m very interested in the early days of business. How did people start. What inspired them to start a business. What were some of the frustrating moments, or moments of regret or possible remorse of starting a business – but then what helped them overcome these obstacles to get to the side of success. Running a business is very difficult on so many different layers – and not even talking about the ‘product’, but what all is involved just to keep the lights on. When starting a business you the weight of responsibility on your shoulders. You’re taking a gamble with your security, and possibly the security of others – like your family. You want to succeed. You want to provide. And these thoughts can be stressful. The stuff you lose sleep over.
The Ruffian Show dips into that – and if you’re a business owner or thinking about starting a business, this is a great podcast. Of course, this isn’t just about business and dark days – it’s about gear talk – an no matter what that gear is – it’s cool to listen to that!
Recently, I was interviewed for Rattlesnake Cable Company, and it was great to really think about the past, the present and the future of things. You can listen below:

Have you looked into String Theory EFX? top rating from Premier Guitar Magazine. I’m sure we would love to hear the owner/creator/builder be interviewed and get a better handle on what his pedals are all about.
