Joyo AT Drive Demo by Sean Pierce Johnson

I’ve been seeing more and more players dip their toe in the micro-pedal pool. Joyo are very affordable so it’s easy to test the waters. As the numbers of pedals grow bigger, while our pedalboard remains the same.. you run into a problem – pedal real estate. You either need to swap out pedals, get a larger board, or get pedals with a smaller footprint. This is the big reason why these micros are starting to be seen more and more.

Sean Pierce Johnson does a great job demoing pedals for his series – Stompbox Saturday on YouTube. He has some variety and he does an excellent job describing the features and explaining how they work. This last Saturday Sean did a demo of the Joyo AT Drive.  Early on in this demo, the major feature that caught my eye, was how the AT Drive’s knobs are lower than the footswitch. Lower profile means, less kicking knobs. That is my number one complaint about micro pedals, it’s easy to step on the knobs. But the Joyo AT Drive took it another step further by adding a ‘shield’. What? Brilliant!
