I took the Blower Box for a quick test drive today.. and man.. it’s awesome. Don’t let the ‘bass distortion’ in the title pigeon hole this pedal. This is NOT just for bass, and it sounds incredible on guitar. But.. with bass, the ability to configure the high and low ends makes it a great dirt box for bass. Controls on this unit are Volume, Distortion, High cut/boost and Low cut/boost. If you dime the Distortion and Low boost, it gets some massive wooley fuzz happening. I was really digging that. You can dial in the high end to get the snappy clarity, or dial a lot of it to get what I like to call – “Ear Knife”. Because, sometimes.. a part needs some ear knife. I know some of you know what I’m talking about.
Idiot Box Effects designed this pedal to capture the classic Voivod Blacky sound that they were fond of. I love it when builders try to replicate a tone from an album, band, song. It’s a tall order, but I can see how fun of a challenge that could be.
The enclosure is an awesome acid etched design, and will look unbelievable awesome on any pedalboard.. especially yours!
Here is a demo of the Blower Box by bassfuzzcom. It’s important to note, that this demo features the original larger enclosure. Controls are the same (volume control is by the output jack). So to clarify.. different box.. just in size:
