Today’s Pedal Line Friday submission is from Craig Griffiths. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.
Hi, I’m an indie guitarist from Tasmania, Australia with a serious pedal addiction.
There’s info about me and my current album ‘Stompbox’ at my website www.skullbug.com
I have many pedals I like to tweak while playing, such as the ZVexes with 10 knobs between just the 2 of them, so I’ve split them into a small board on the floor that goes into the main board on a keyboard rack for easy knob tweaking. I have a large collection of other pedals I swap in and out but the current setup for recording my next album ‘Tube Screamer’ is as follows:
Floor pedals:
BBE Wah
Boss PS6 Harmonist – set for instant 2 octave rise
Boss PS5 Super Shifter – set for 2 octave divebomb
TC Ditto looper
MC-FX A/B switcher – to bypass PS5 & PS6 which suck tone when not used
Raised pedals:
ZVex Mastotron
ZVex Fuzz Factory
Xenagama 3 channel loop switcher
Ibanez TS9DX – ex-Steve Vai (signed on side)
Ibanez PT999 Phase Tone
Digitech Death Metal
TC Mini Polytune
Red Witch Ruby Fuzz
EHX B9 Organ
Vox Satchurator
DOD 440 Envelope Filter
MXR M75 Super Badass Distortion
Hotone Tremolo
Hotone Octa
TC Flashback Mini
On the small board the BBE Wah and TC Ditto Looper are in-line, and the two Boss pedals are hooked to the single loop switcher so they don’t suck tone when not in use. On the main board the Zvexes, MXR Super Badass, Hotone Trem, Hotone Octa and TC Delay are in-line. All other pedals are grouped into 3 loops off the switcher as they include a few non-true bypass tone suckers.
Thanks J
