Yesterday there was news coming from TC Electronic. They announced yesterday that they’re going to put out a polytune tuner in a ‘clip’ format. I’ve been seeing clip tuners more and more. Usually with acoustic instrument players, but sometimes I see it on electrics (a way to free space on the pedalboard). Clip tuners are usually ‘cheap’ in the sense of build and features, but it looks like TC Electronic did not go this route, but the opposite by adding more features and functionality as well as building a sturdy and durable clip on tuner.
The polytune tuner really caught fire a few years back when they unveiled the original TC Electronic Polytune. Since then they’ve made it smaller, and now with the clip on model, they’ve successfully are hitting all the markets. The main feature that caught my eye, was the adaptive screen which adjusts no matter the orientation. Handy if you like to have the view behind the headstock instead of in front.
The initial price will be $49.99 in US and they’re predicting an early July roll out on this. Check out the following video:
