This morning I discovered a Stupid Deal on the MXR CSP-001X Variphase! When I say “Stupid Deal“, I’m obviously referring to Musician’s Friend’s Stupid Deal of the Day, where they pick a single product from their catalog and drop the price (usually considerably). If the product is sold out, they’ll select another product to take it’s place – so you never really know how long you have to snatch it up.
Today’s Stupid Deal is for the MXR CSP-001X Variphase. Basically, with this MXR Custom Shop pedal, they enclosed a MXR Phase 90 into a classic Dunlop Wah enclosure and you can manage the phase speed with your foot. You can also control the ‘Mix’ between wet/dry signal. Internally, you can also toggle between Block Phasing or the vintage Script phase. Block and Phase refer to the style of phase based on the logo design over the years. Block is modern and the Script is vintage.

So let’s talk about the Stupid Deal of the Day. The MXR CSP-001X Variphase lists for $257.13, and is usually available for $200, but today’s deal – it’s only $109.00!!! That’s $91 off the going rate! Boosh! You can check out the Stupid Deal here. Remember, if you go there, and it’s something else.. you’re too late. So if you’re interested, you may want to jump on this ASAP.
