Today’s Pedal Line Friday submission is from Jean-Thomas Bablet. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.
Pedal Line Friday – 9/27 – Jean-Thomas Bablet
Hello,
Since my latest article (http://www.effectsbay.com/2017/02/pedal-line-friday-224-jean-thomas/), there’s a bit of changes !
I still run my Fender Telecaster Custom 72, or a 70’s SG copy with a trem-bar but now in a Fender 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb Reissue. And now the signal chain :
Klon buffer : home made with the help of a friend, it helps retaining the treble.
Boss TU2 : noone can break it !
Ernie Ball VP Jr 250K : I switch to this version as I run it front. No effects loop on my amp.
EHX Pitch Fork : used for aerials swells, slight sub/sup octaves and a riffy part for a song.
Tortenmann Kompressor TK-23 : germanium compressor, not common. I use it to push my amp and bright things up. It adds a gritty touch that I love.
EQD Bit Commander : a weirdo but I like it for some heavy riffs.
XOTIC EP Booster : a classic, always on for this warm texture it brings.
Mad Professor Sweet Honey : I had a clone so I got the original for my 1t gain stage.
Fulltone OCD : when things go a little bit harder I love the OCD for this marshall-esque tone everybody likes.
EHX Big Muff Russian Ri : this is the muff I love, lots of bass but still playable in a live environment.
EQD Sea Machine : this the V1. You can dial in many ways, it’s a very nice tool., not only chorus
Strymon El Capistan : one of my latest addition. This thing is a beast I mostly use for slap-back delays but it’s getting more and more uses in my playing.
Strymon Flint : my go-to reverb. The favorite switch goes from short to long reverb. It’s a very natural sounding pedal I love it. The trem is a joy too.
EHX SuperEgo : more or less a sign of GAS. I use it mainly at home to fool around. It has the EQD Transmisser in its FX loop so I know I could use it a lot more.
Jamman Stereo : I have some ambient pads to launch during songs and I use it on a few live recordings.
Everything is powered by a huge Voodoo Lab Pedal Power Mondo. It’s very good but rather expensive… I got it used… and had to make it repaired, so not a good deal here ;)JT
PS – Also I forgot to mention that I now play guitar in a post/indie-rock stuff, instrumental, called La Drache :

We are about to release our first EP, so the bandcamp is like the desert when there’s really no one here.
