Toshi Kasai is one of the recording engineers I’ve been fascinated with for a while. I first started hearing about Toshi later with his involvement with The Melvins and also with my friends band Conan Neutron & The Secret Friends.Toshi has also worked some of the big boys out there including Foo Fighters and Tool.
So I was really stoked when I saw an Earthquaker Device’s episode of “Show Us Your Junk!” featuring Toshi at his Sound of Sirens Studio! Check it out!
I absolutely love seeing studios like this. Gritty. Full of character. I feel like environments like this achieve a couple of things – a smash mouth approach getting shit down and it also provides an easy atmosphere to take chances and create.
