I saw this last month, and have been itching to post about it. I’ve been a big fan of Chase Bliss Audio – while never owning a Chase Bliss pedal. I played a few at NAMM a couple of years ago. I’m a big fan for a couple of reasons. Obviously the pedals are interesting and sound amazing. But one of the big reasons I’m into this company – Joel Korte, the owner. You see, when you buy a pedal, you’re not only buying the pedal, but often buying into the philosophy, the message, behind the company.
I’ve listened to a variety of podcasts with Joel, and enjoy his passion of working with pedals. I enjoy the reason why he started and named the company Chase Bliss. I enjoyed hearing about his struggles and finding ways to scratch out his place in the gear world.
When I saw this mini-doc (which is also filmed by Knobs) I loved seeing the reactions to the Thermae. I also enjoyed seeing David Rainger of Rainger FX (who I met as well, and is a genius / madman). Check it out…
As with all Chase Bliss Audio pedals, the price tag is high, but it’s also what you get for the money – so in my opinion is well worth it. The Chase Bliss Audio Thermae is $499 and is available with FREE shipping at Amazon.com. Out of all the Chase Bliss Audio pedals I’ve seen, this guy… this guy is the one I want. Maybe some day!
