I love the people at Fuzzrocious. It’s a family run business. It’s a business run with passion. It’s a business run with heart. I also like that Fuzzrocious has a great loyal community behind it. For April 20, they announced a sale on their 420 Fuzz, which were gobbled up quickly on Reverb.com. For this promotion Fuzzrocious posted this great production video.
Videos like this are great to see what is all involved when making pedals. There is a lot to it, and they don’t even show the design time of the enclosure, the design time of the circuit, the time involved manufacturing the PCBs, etc.
I wanted to mention this, because many of you probably heard naive, ignorant people say things like – “Why are pedals so expensive, they only have $3 in parts in there”. When building pedals, it goes way beyond the cost of parts – and I felt that this video really showed how many parts and hoops you need to jump through. Also, not to mention the gamble. Ryan at Fuzzrocious has to front the costs on all of parts, screen printing, etc, and hope to make a his money back on retail sales.
Watching business do what they do, it adds the importance to support these small businesses when you can. There are families behind these shops. There are mortgage payments and grocery bills depending on these shops.
Back to the 420.. curious what it’s all about? Check this out:
