Pedal Line Friday – 4/7 – Erik Rodriguez (Erbear)

Hello! This is my Pedal Line Friday Submission.

My name is Erik Rodriguez and I play guitar/everything else in my ambient project Erbear.

I play a heavily modified Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster into the following board:

My Pedal Order Switcher allows me to move my DL4 to either the beginning or end of my chain. The idea behind my board is to be able the endlessly re-sample my own playing using the DL4 Looper and the Count to 5’s mode 3 which is a looper that can play a loop at three different speeds/pitches
simultaneously.

A common technique I use is to have my DL4 at the end of my chain, record a loop onto my CT5, affect that loop with the various other pedals in my chain and record the output into a loop on the DL4. Then using the Pedal Order Switch I move the DL4 to the front of my chain, record a new loop onto the CT5, move the DL4 to the end of the chain, overdub the output from the CT5 onto the DL4, and back and forth forever!

I can get a wide variety of sounds since both loopers are capable of playing octave down, octave up, and reverse. The CT5 mode 3 has three independent playbacks. So I can have the first playing at the same pitch as recorded, then add the second in an octave up, then add the third as a perfect fourth to get a nice suspended chord asynchronous loop.
