Alchemy Audio Assembled Aion Electronics Lab Series L5 Preamp

Talking with Johnny Balmer over at Alchemy Audio yesterday, he mentioned that he’s involved with a great project. He teamed up with Kevin at Aion Electronics to put together a limited run (only 50 units) of the Aion Electronics Lab Series L5 Preamp. This is a faithful reproduction of the preamp section of the Moog-designed Lab Series L5 solid state amplifier from the late 70’s. These have a cult following as the most “tube like” solid state amps available.

Johnny mentioned that the Lab Series L5 Preamp could be used with a power amp, a direct box into a live or studio console or connected to your amplifier’s effects return. Additionally, it sounds great stacked with other pedals.
