Honestly, I’ve been kicking around this idea for a little bit. I was recently inspired from the J Mascis post I did a little while back. On that post, I talked about his main pedalboard that we all drool over, but he also had a “micro” board for travel or playing a single song as a guest musician on stage. That got me to start thinking about my own set up. Sometimes a micro board could come in real handy.
I typically don’t like the micro pedals. They’re great for pedalboard real estate, but can be hard to hit individually with your feet, and sometimes they have a lack of control options due to their size. But if you need something small, and something that can travel easily, they’re hard to beat.
So, for this post, I wanted to put a little thought on what pedals I would use personally. I do like to have a general boost, and occasionally a fuzz, so those have to be on board. I use the Phase 90 and a tremolo. For delays, I like to have a digital and an analog delay, and finally I need a reverb at the end.
So, this is what I came up with:
TC Electronic Polytune Noir Mini 2 Pedal Tuner
TC Electronic Spark Boost Mini
JHS Mini Foot Silicon Fuzz
MXR M290 Phase 95
Malekko Omicron Analog Tremolo
Ibanez Analog Mini Delay
TC Electronic Flash Back Mini
TC Electronic Hall of Fame HOF Mini Reverb
For the actual pedalboard, I would go with the Pedaltrain PT-M16-SC Metro 16. For pedal, I would definitely stay away from the daisy chain and go with T-Rex Fuel Tank Jr. or Pedaltrain Volto. I’m not sure if the Volto is still in production or not, but would work great for this board!
So what do you think of this mini rig? What would you need? What would you replace.. and why? Comment below!!!

I have 3 of them in my pedalboard: polytune (actually the original white version 1), t.c. hof mini and t.c. spark. They are mini, but they do a HUGE and great work!

I have to have a delay with tap tempo so that is why I went with the Nux Delay. I also want all the pedals to not cost more than $60 so I can make it out with money left in the bank.
