Yesterday I saw mention of a killer give away at She Shreds Magazine, where they’re giving away a St. Vincent Ernie Ball Music Man Signature Guitar. That got me to think about this guitar again. I’ve been a fan of Annie Clark (St. Vincent) for years. There are not a lot of female guitarists out there and especially at the weirdo, brilliant, artistic caliber as she.
I remember when they announced the signature guitar, and there was quite a negative response about it – which totally pissed me off. Some were blatantly sexist while others were clearly negative on her style of play and some just on how the guitar looked. Thinking about myself, I am pretty traditional when it comes to body shape, so this guitar took me off guard for a second. After soaking it in, I really thought it was a great reflection of Annie Clark. I thought it was bold that instead of making a guitar look like one she already plays, she went artistic with it and went out of the box. Again, another thing I respect from this musician. She’s not scared or worried to just throw it out there.
I did come across this video about the making of the guitar and reinforced everything I thought. Check it out:
I think a fresh design is great, looks functional, sounds excellent. Annie Clark is badass, and so is the guitar. What do you think? Hit me with a comment!

SWEET! Awesome looking guitar from an awesome artist, and I absolutely love She Shreds. One of only three mags I subscribe too.
