The Peter Frampton Rig Rundown episode by Premier Guitar magazine was a fun episode. We know that Peter Frampton is a legend on a few different levels. But I really enjoy the insight you get from these conversations. One thing that I thought was interesting.. was how much of a gear-head he is. I knew he was a part of Framptone, and has amazing gear – but I have seen musicians like this, that just want to play and don’t really even understand their intricate set up. Peter definitely knew and understood his set up! I like that he was so obsessed for recreating sounds that some effects were used sparingly depending on the song.
The next part that I enjoyed was his story about his classic 3-pickup Les Paul Custom that was lost, then found. This story alone is worth watching the video. Amazing bad luck, followed by amazing good luck with 30 years in between!
Since this site is about effects (a lot of the time) here is a break down of Peter Frampton’s pedals.
