For years I’ve known about strobe tuning, specifically hearing about bench top Peterson Strobe Tuners, but I’ve personally never used one or used tuner with that mode. Frankly, because I never understood how it worked. I know watching guitar techs at shows, that they all have strobe tuners on their benches, and it’s the best of the best when coming to tuning. Last week I also mentioned the 432Hz tuning and how the Strobostomp (Peterson VSS-C Strobo Series Tuner) is capable of this. But how does a strobe tuner work? What’s good about a strobe tuner in relation to standard tuners? I was excited when I saw this video by Peterson Tuners:
I was super surprised by the ‘simplicity’ of the technology behind it WHILE maintaining a high level of accuracy. This has definitely piques my interest in owning one. I don’t think I need a strobe for the board, but I would love to have one for my work bench while working on intonation or general guitar maintenance.
