Pedalboards for the band DIIV

DIIV logoBefore I begin with this post – do not forget to enter the Malekko Scrutator give away!!!

An Effects Bay reader, Marc, contacted me asking if I was interested in posting some board shots of the band DIIV (based out of Brooklyn, NY). I was into it, but I have to confess, I wasn’t familiar with this band, so I was looking forward to see what they’re all about. So far, I’m really into these guys!

I don’t really like to compare bands to other bands, but sometimes it’s a natural thing that happens. Especially, it they make you think of a sound/vibe that you haven’t heard in a while. It’s like saying ‘hi’ to an old friend. Their ‘genre’ is labeled as indie rock, dream pop and shoegaze. Yep, I would agree. They do remind me of some the old Manchester sound from the late 80s to early 90s. The Jesus and Mary Chain or Stone Roses come to mind. Great stuff. Check it out – their official video for ‘Doused‘:

So we have two board shots. One for Andrew Bailey and the other for Zachary Cole Smith.
