Explosions in the Sky’s Munaf Rayani Pedal Line 2015

One of my all time favorite bands is Explosions in the Sky from Austin, TX. These post-rockers are all about setting the mood, and drawing you in for a musical journey. To me, these guys took what Mogwai was doing and took it to the next level. Absolutely an amazing band. They either just finished, or in the middle of recording a new album, so be sure to check them out when they go on tour. Only thing better than listening to Explosions in the Sky is seeing them live with a crowd. One of the best shows I’ve seen too.

For those of you not familiar with the band, check out this amazing performance of their song “Only Moment We Were Alone” from Bonaroo a few years back:

I’ve been following them on Instagram and was excited to see a few photos from a rehearsal in Canada, but there is a good shot of Munaf Rayani’s pedal line and thought I would talk about it. I posted Munaf’s board in 2010, so we’re due for an update.

Explosions in the Sky’s Munaf Rayani Pedal Line 2015Here is the break down of pedals on Munaf Rayani’s pedal line:

Boss TU-2 Tuner
Boss RV-3 Reverb
Tech 21 SansAmp GT2
Walrus Audio Voyager Overdrive
Ibanez DE7 Delay
Boss RC 20-XL Looper

Over the years, it appears that Manuf likes to switch up his dirt pedal. I’ve seen a few variations. The delay, reverb and looper seem to stand the test of time.

Love this band. It’s funny though, my love for the Ibanez DE-7 is what lead me to find this band!

That’s super interesting. DE-7 is so underrated.
