Today I wanted to talk about Nathan Shafer’s Soundscape with Pitch Drops and Slides video. I’ve been following echoechoguy on Twitter for a while now, and also have been subscribed to his YouTube channel.. and you should too!
Nathan puts together some great demo videos, but also posts some great ambient looping. For a while there, I was really into ambient looping myself, and I’ve been itching to get back into, so I like to be inspired by musician’s like Nathan, as well as Andy Othling!
Nathan put this video title – “Ambient Guitar Music Soundscape 7 – Live Looping with Pitch Drops and Slides” – check it out:
I thought the pitch drops were quite cool. I was also curious about his board, and sent him a message about it, and he was kind of enough to break down the gear used!

Coolness happening here. I love this sort of ambient ethereal stuff. Building and building. You could just get lost in the massive soundscapes that you can create with just a few pedals. Goodness ensues…

Nick, good eye! Yes, there is a digitech hardwire RV7 reverb pedal in the pic but I actually switched this pedal with a Keeley Aurora reverb for the video.
