I’ve been a fan of Walrus Audio for some time now. These guys continue to make great stuff and pushing the envelope. I love their look, and I love their take on creating effects! For 2015, this hasn’t changed and I’m really excited about these products.. one especially!
At Winter 2015 NAMM they brought out a few new products, but the buzz has been related with these three.. Luminary Octave, Bellwether Delay and Vanguard Phaser.
The Luminary is a Octave Generator.. in the same vein as a POG, but we’re talking about some great additions, and personally, this is the one I’m super excited about.. and very itching to play. The Luminary provides +2 Up and +2 Down octaves. It has a wet/dry mix. Where things get cool.. is the attack control. Normally, octave generators, it’s on or off. You could always change the mix, but with the attack, you can dial in *when* the octaves come in.. very cool. This causes a bloom or bleed effect of the octave signal. Additionally, there is a filter control that allows you smooth out the octaves. I think the potential for ‘shimmer’ effects or low drone could be super cool with this pedal.
The Bellwether is a bucket brigade analog delay, providing up to 1000ms of delay time. When people go for analog delays, it’s all about the dark repeats, but the guys at Walrus put some thought into this. They provided a tone control to brighten up the repeats if desired. Love it. The Bellwether also comes with modulation to simulate that tape warble.
The Vanguard is a phaser, but in the video below, Colt Westbrook states that he hates Phasers and wanted to go about it at a different angle. Basically, this is a dual phaser, where one phase feeds the other, which creates interesting options.
Check out this video by Reverb where they talk with Colt about these three exciting pedals

Do you have any idea if the Luminary will be polyphonic like the POG/Micro POG? If so I’m taking back my Micro POG this week and I’ll be patient lol. Thanks!
