Today’s pedal line is from Brian Wedge. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.
Here’s my newest version of my pedal board. I’ve gone up and down in size over the years but love to have everything that I want at my fingertips….er toetips.
I’ve been playing since I was 5, so over 40 years. I still love new music and am a gigging musician. I cut my teeth on 80s alternative, classic rock and metal. The past 10 years I’ve really been focusing on “MY” sound. I play a number of different guitars so this pedalboard helps me retain the “me” in the sound without making the guitars sound generic. As you can see, I LOVE effects. My board has some redundancy, but that’s because I don’t like to fiddle with the boxes during a show.
My board starts with a:
TC Electronic Polytune: hands down the best tuner out there.
Dunlop GBC95 Wah Pedal: I don’t use wah that much, mostly for Weezer songs or funk.
CMatmods Deluxe Signa Comp: Great compressors. I leave it on all the time with my cleans.
MXR DynaComp: I use this just to add sustain for leads.
VooDoo Labs SparkleDrive: This is my lowest gain dirtbox
Ibanez TS9: This is an Elevon modded TS9, my second gain dirtbox and I kick it on for the occasional lead just to put it over the top
Suhr Riot Reloaded: High gain dirt (my distortion boxes are only used on the clean channel of my amp, I get my main distortion sound on the dirty channel of my amp).
Earthquaker Devices Hummingbird: The only tremolo I’ve found that can get that Smiths’ “How Soon Is Now” sound
Earthquaker Devices Black Eye Clean Boost: enough said, it’s a straight clean boost, drives the input of the amp a little harder when necessary.
Roland DD20 Digital Delay: a very versatile delay, I use mainly just the digital section (run in the loop of the amp)
Wampler Faux Tape Echo: I was always missing my old RE201 Space Echo, this box does a great job emulating a tape echo (run in the loop of the amp)
Line 6 M5 Modeler: I use this for all the modulation, reverbs and a couple delays hooked to the other Ernie Ball Jr used as an Expression pedal (run in the loop of the amp)
The small silver box with the switch under the clean boost is a tap tempo switch for the DD20
The board is powered by 2 Dunlop DC Bricks
The board is wired 90% with George L’s cables. I have to get one more set to finish it off.
It’s big, but is easily transportable in it’s soft case. The basic board was a PedalTrain PT PRO.
I’d love to see this on your site. It’s overkill, but a hell of a playground. Hit me back if you need more info.
thanks,
Brian

Wow! Big board, but nice. Looks like some of the pedals might be hard to engage, due to its location. Almost looks like you need a BIGGER board. LOL!
