Back in the 80s I remember being blown away by Van Halen. I would say that band might be the first band I really got into – trying to get more and more albums/cassettes, etc. Exploring their older stuff, etc. I distinctly remember calling a guitar store in town asking if they had a Kramer guitar. My plans were simple – get a guitar, and put some tape and paint it like Eddie. Of course, no thought of actually learning to play the guitar. After getting the pricing, I realized I wouldn’t be buying that guitar, and the thought of being a guitarist was on hold for a few more years.
Old Van Halen still brings out those feelings when I hear it. Hot for Teacher, Panama – I might it’s all soooo good. I was stoked when I saw Wampler Pedals demo showing how to achieve that classic Eddie ‘brown sound’ with the Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe Distortion. This demo has Steve Townsend playing some sweet EVH stuff. I think he does an amazing the job, and the tone is spot on!
You can pick up the Wampler Pinnacle Distortion Standard for $199.75 or the Wampler Pinnacle Distortion Deluxe for $229.97 at Amazon.com. If you own one of these, let us know what you think by commenting below!
