A couple of days ago, I received an email talking about a new pedal that a person “invented”. I had some assumptions and it sat in my inbox for a day or two without me opening it. Finally, I figured I would crack it open and most likely delete it, but quickly after reading it, it caught my attention. The email mentioned that the pedal is called a BeatBuddy and basically, it’s a drum machine in a pedal. Now, that isn’t complete new, my Boss RC-3 Loop Station has a rhythm guide with ‘real’ drums. I have to say, that feature is not that great, but nice at times. Either way, I thought I’d learn more and ended up on their official page – http://mybeatbuddy.com/
I watched the video.. and was blown away:
The beats on this were amazing, easily customizable and easy to work with your feet. Solo looping artists are going to love this thing! I was disappointed that you couldn’t purchase it right away, but see that he’s trying to get funding completed to produce the units. They created a indiegogo campaign asking for $75,000, and they’re almost fully funded. If you’re interested in this, you can drop $179 on their first perk which is for a BeatBuddy (500 units available – 350 remaining). The BeatBuddy will sell at a retail price of $349, so this might be a great opportunity to pick one up at a great price.

I’d like to buy one, but I did my gear shopping, and I had a black Friday brake down that required an expensive thorough brake job!

Felt the same way. Talk about a product that fills a real need. I’m already in for this. They achieved their $75,000 funding goal in ONE DAY!!! I believe they still have some of their least expensive units still available for US$179 shipped (in USA.)
It’s really an amazing concept – one of those “I can’t believe I didn’t think of this!” ideas. A blinding glimpse of the obvious.

NOT FOR PUBLICATION: Hank, I think your footswitch product would work for operating the fills. etc. that require a footswitch to operate. -

I can’t believe no one has though of this before now. It’s a great idea! You know, not everyone has their own live-in drummer to do our bidding. lol

Wow that genuinely is something new and exciting. Gotta love those hand claps, I’m sick of singers having all the fun in that department
