Last week I mentioned I had a chance to check out Pinback at a great venue. For that post, I did a pedalboard break down for Zach Smith. Lots of good response from that. If I do a break down of Zach, shouldn’t I do a break down of Rob Crow’s board? He’s the guitarist (plays bass too, as well as sings) of Pinback. Great guitar player, and love his vocals. Great stuff!
Please check out their current tour dates. If you get a chance.. check these guys out!!! Here is current tour schedule.
Below is a break down of Rob Crow’s board:
Live Wire ABY1
TC Electronic Polytune
Boss FRV-1 Reverb
Boss DS-1 Distortion
Electro-Harmonix Small Clone Chorus
Line 6 DL4 Delay
Jameson Whiskey
I’ve been seeing reverbs in front of drives more and more. I need to start experimenting with this. Any others out there do this? I remember the guitarist for Other Lives did the same as well. Let me know what you think by commenting below!

Hey, I’ve started putting my reverb in front of my distortion too. – it’s a different shoegaze type of sound that hides the edge and attack. It gives you a nice wall of sound.

Just yesterday I noticed that Eric Johnson puts delays before his dirt; he runs a wah into an Echoplex into a Tube Driver on one board and a Memory Man into a DD2 into chorus on another. I’m being shaken out of my comfy pedalboard reality. . .
