Christmas Presents – Final Round

This year I thought it would be fun to post a few pictures of musical gifts received by EffectsBay readers. Getting gear over the holidays is always special, and we all like to see what people got! I think I’ll do the same for next year. There were definitely some great gifts. This post will wrap things up. Thanks everyone for submitting!!

Eric Martin – Winston & Fidel Cigar Box Guitar, Big Muff Pi

Winston & Fidel Cigar Box Guitar, Big Muff PiHi, I hope it’s not to late to send a photo of some stuff I got for Christmas this year.
My parents picked me up a Winston & Fidel cigar box guitar. It sounds great in an open tuning with a slide.
My wife got me the Big Muff Pi. It’s a version 4 from 1977. (Smashing Pumpkins anyone?)
I really enjoy your site & love checking out the pics on Pedal Line Fridays. Keep up the good work!

– Thanks Eric. That’s ’77 Big Muff is awesome I bet! Let us know what you think! – EB

Greg – France – Red Special Brian May Guitar, Vox AC30C2X, Fryer Treble Booster Deluxe

Red Special Brian May Guitar, Vox AC30C2X, Fryer Treble Booster DeluxeHere is Greg, guitar geek reader from France…. I love the Friday Pedal line article (will soon send my own!). For now, below are my (so nice) Xmas gifts. I guess Santa believed i’m a Queen fan…

– Red Special (standard model) from Brian May Guitars
– VOX AC30C2X (with Blue Alnico speakers)
– Fryer Treble Booster Deluxe

The Red Special is a really special guitar as everybody knows. But it can fit to many music style, thanks to the 3 Trisonic. These pickups are amazing! The AC30 is a legendary and powerful amplifier as well, used on so many hits tunes, and by so many guitars players on the last 60 years The Fryer TB help to reach closer the tone of Brian May, by pushing the input level of the amps, into getting a more “bitty” saturation… it’s not a detail in the sound of the Master guitarist!

Thanks Santa!

– Wow Greg… wow. You were definitely on Santa’s good list. Love to hear how the Vox AC30C2X sounds. I bet it sounds amazing. -EB
