Tristan Shone – Author & Punisher

I’ve been wanting to post this for a long time, and I was finally reminded of this the other day. I’ve been dabbling in some solo stuff and a few months back I saw mention of Author & Punisher. This is a one man doom/industrial band. Say what? So I had to look.  I was surprised at what I found and I think you guys can appreciate the nerd factor involved here. Tristan Shone has basically created a series of MIDI controllers to manipulate his sounds (instruments). I deal with computers all day and dabble with various electronic projects, so this was really inspiring to me.  In this video he mentions Arduinos. I’ve mentioned the very powerful Arduino in relation to effect controls before (see: EHX Big Muff Pi hacking with Arduino (Make)). I know this isn’t stomp box/effects related in general, but I like the idea of manipulating sound to fit your needs.. and this going it making it happen!
