Over the years, I’ve seen plenty of DigiTech Whammies on various Pedal Line Friday submissions. It’s safe to say that this is a very popular pedal for certain genres of guitar. When I think of the DigiTech Whammy, Tom Morello and Jack White always come to mind, where the extreme capabilities of the pedal changed a style of guitar play. Very cool. So how do you make a great thing better? Well, you need to take it up a notch and they did with the DigiTech Whammy DT Drop Tune.
The DigiTech Whammy is a classic foot controlled pitch shifter, but the DigiTech Whammy DT Drop Tune takes it to the next level. You can now step up or down 7 half steps or an entire octave which is controlled by a dedicated footswitch. There is a momentary footswitch for “hammer-on” or “pull-off” effects.
Searching around YouTube, I found this 13 minute video that really shows everything that this pedal can do with some commentary, but mostly application by RobChappers

You can pick up the DigitTech Whammy DT Drop Tune for $226 at Amazon.com, but I found a better deal at Musician’s Friend. Musician’s Friend is selling it for $199.99 and with free shipping!
