Barber Trifecta Fuzz

Barber Trifecta FuzzA couple of days ago, I mentioned the Ashdown James LoMenzo HyperDrive Bass Distortion for a potentially sweet bass distortion for bassists out there. I posted this on Facebook, and Michael Chaucer Stettes mentioned the Barber Trifecta Fuzz as another great pedal for bassists looking for some dirt options. I’m familiar with Barber products, but have to admit, that I didn’t know too much about the Trifecta Fuzz, so I wanted to take a closer look.

The Barber Trifecta Fuzz has a switch to change into three different classice fuzz circuits (hence the name ‘Trifecta’). There is a ‘sludge’ control is a pre-fuzz bass control circuit to adjust how much bass signal is passed through (lo-pass filter) to the bass circuit. The Trifecta also has a push/pull tone pot that lets you go from a fundamental flat EQ to scooped. The three fuzz circuits are modeled after the following classic fuzz circuits – Triangle Style Big Muff Pi / Jumbo Blender / Suppa Blender.

I found this very thorough video by TheToneshack on the Barber Trifecta Fuzz:

As you can see, it’s a pretty versatile and nice sounding fuzz, definitely worth checking out. You can pick up the Barber Trifecta Fuzz at Amazon for $149.95!
