I’m sure a few of you have seen the Trustworthiness of Guitars poster created by GearPipe. I saw it featured on GuitarSquid, and a few other places. When I first saw it I cracked up for sure. I’m glad we finally have a metric of personality when it comes to guitar shapes. I’ve had my suspicions so it’s nice to be able to gauge it.
The break down goes from red to green on the ‘trustworthiness’ scale. Categories defined as ‘Repugnant Individual -> Amp Stealer -> Total Douchebag -> Girlfriend Stealer -> Sort of a Creep -> Workingman’s Hero -> Trust with Band Money -> Brother from Another Mother -> Saint Stephen
I think they nailed it pretty well. A change I would includ. Square Bo Diddley guitar easing into “Trust with Band Money”? I would probably knock that down to “Total Douchebag” – sorry Bo Diddley square guitar fans. Jokes
I can see many a conversation stemming from this poster. Add beer. Add a practice space. Add a guitarist with a pointy guitar, and we’re talking hours of entertaining conversation. So as the title of this post suggests, you can win your own printed copy of this awesome poster. Jeremy from GearPipe is offering a free poster to a give away at EffectsBay.com! Thanks Jeremy (side question for Jeremy – please.. please tell me there is a bass guitar version is in the works).
So to throw your name in the hat to win this is real easy. All you have to be is subscribed to the EffectsBay.com mailing list. That’s it. If you’re already subscribed, you’re in. If not, sign up.. and you’ll be in. I will pick a random winner Tuesday November 22. Jeremy of GearPipe will then mail a copy of the poster to the winner. This give away is open to everyone (international included).
