Today’s pedal line is from John Figueroa. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.
My name is John Figueroa, and I’m from Ventura, CA. My rig consists of two guitars, an Epiphone Inspired by John Lennon Casino, and a Fender ’72 Telecaster Deluxe Reissue. Both of these go into a Whirlwind Selector, which then goes into my chain of effects, which are, in this order: Boss TU-2 tuner, Fulltone Fulldrive 2 Mosfet, Boss PS-6 harmonist, Boss DD-6 delay, MXR Carbon Copy delay, Line 6 Verbzilla, then into an Akai Headrush E2 looper, and into a Vox AC30CC2. My two favorite pedals would have to be the Verbzilla, and the Carbon Copy. The Carbon Copy is just such a nice, warm sounding analog delay, and I’ve never had a hard time finding a good sound with it. The Verbzilla is great at making some crazy sounds. I especially like the octo setting. I currently play in a band called Captions, we’re based out of Ventura County. We recently entered a contest hosted by Shure microphones called the Shure Give It Voice Tour.
We played and won a showcase for a spot representing Los Angeles and the West Coast in the finals. You can follow us on our twitter, as well as our myspace , where you can hear some of our new songs, which are also available for download on soundcloud. Thanks a lot for making this awesome blog!
