Last night while lounging around and watching some tube, I caught most of an older Austin City Limits performance with Pearl Jam from 2009. I definitely dig and respect Mike McCready’s playing. I like his aggressiveness and energy on stage, and he has some tasty licks. Thought I would break down a recent board of Mike McCready, since his tone is fantastic (large part to his amp backline). Most of the information I could gather was from the 2009 era, so it should be ‘fairly’ accurate.
Dunlop Crybaby (535Q)
Hughes & Kettner Rotosphere
Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Keeley Mod (Later replaced with Fulltone Distortion Pro)
Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer
Boss DM-2 Delay
Line6 DL4 Delay
Line6 MM4 Modulation
Line selector (Later replaced with Lehle Dual Amp Switcher)
Digitech Whammy (shown in later shots)
Here are some shots of later views of the pedal board including the Digitech Whammy and Lehle switch. I’m still unsure about the large box in the center (looks like 2 power supplies) and the single switch box with the star at the top. I’m guessing it might be a kill switch when swapping guitars. It doesn’t appear to be connected in the top photo, and I’m not seeing it on other shots.
Please let me know if you have any corrections or comments!
