A few years back, I was working on a ‘tribute’ project with a few friends, where we were going to play a single album for one show. So, I had to learn a few songs relatively quick. Normally, I write my own stuff, so I really had to get in the proper mindset to dissect parts. There were a few tab places on line that helped with some of the more popular songs, but there were a few that were either wrong, or without tabs, so it was on me to figure it out.
Generally, the riffs are easy enough, but the single note stuff or leads is where it can get difficult. A friend of mine just pointed me to this site, and I was wishing I had something like this back then. This is the Riffmaster Pro Software, where you run a small app on your computer and drop MP3 files into it. From there, you can slow tempo and loop sections! Slowing tempo WHILE maintaining pitch is super cool for sure.
Here is a video demo of the software:
Not bad.. not bad at all! It’s $49.00 and has a 10 day free trial!
