Way Huge Electronics WHE101 Angry Troll Boost

Today I thought I’d talk about a fairly new pedal by Way Huge Electronics (Dunlop) called the Angry Troll Boost. This is a ‘clean’ boost, that is designed to work your pre-amp tubes to give you a rich natural overdrive tone by actually overdriving your tube pre-amp. Probably not the best pedal for solid state amp people.

Here is the official pedal description:

The Way Huge Angry Troll is a linear boost amplifier that is capable of slamming the front end of your tube amplifier with up to 50db of clean gain. The two knobs act like a vintage mic preamp. The Anger knob allows you to control the amount of gain being created by the op-amp while the Volume knob dictates total output being sent to your amp. The Way Huge Angry Troll works great as a stand alone distortion pedal as well as a clean boost. It also add features like true bypass switching and a easy access battery hatch. If you are looking for a pedal that sounds like your amp with a little more ummph, check this guy out.

It’s been awhile since I featured a video by Gearmanndude, so here ya go:

You can pick up the Way Huge Electronics Angry Troll Boost for $119.99 at Musician’s Friend.
