J. Mascis Pedal Board

One of the guitarists I’ve liked for years is J. Mascis and I was curious what his pedal board was like. I found a recent post (dated 4/18/2009) which included a link to a photo of it. I have that photo below. I thought it would be fun to ID some of the pedals. Pick a pedal and ID it in the comments below.

I’ll contribute with the pedal (2nd from the left). That is a Crowther Audio Double HotCake. It’s a sweet pedal, and I own that one!

I see a Fox Rox Aqua Vibe! Also a couple of Analogman pedals, a King Of Tone and a Sunlion.

Eventide Time Factor delay – left side, second pedal up. I play the same delay!

    Top tier [l-r]:
    Dr. Scientist- Reverberator
Custom Audio Japan – Twin Trem.
    Fox Rox – Aqua Vibe
Electro Harmonix – Deluxe Electric Mistress
Boss – TU-2 [on top of the EHX]
Electro Harmonix – Bigg muff [Early U.S.A.]
    – I think the “Mute” pedal drops the volume of the big muff by 50%.

    Middle tier
    Eventide – Time Factor
    Dr. Scientist – Frazz Dazzeler
Foot pedal controler [Custom Audio Electronics?]
Wah [Not sure about this, I read he uses recent vox wahs]
    Mcfx – Super fuzz

    Bottom tier
Analog Man – King of tone
    Crowther Audio – Double Hotcake
Analog Man – Sun Lion Fuzz Booster Pedal

    – I think all the “cutom audio electronics” stuff is custom made by MXR, hence the label on the power block on the top right.

Google the pedalboard of Kevin Shields. The man has gone off the deep end

…and I am filled with unsurpassed jealousy!! 8)

The Wah is unmistakably a CAE MXR dual inductor wah. Sweet pedal. I am fond of the new Vox JS wah which also has the 2 inductor options plus a voice switch and a variable boost, and it has the traditional Vox model. My fav wah of all time.
